I have a bad coffee habit. Really bad. I’m embarrassed to tell you how much coffee I drink, but let’s just say that Starbucks is my Mothership. In an attempt to reduce (and ultimately eliminate) my coffee habit I have been drinking herbal teas because I think more than the coffee itself I just really like a warm drink. But anyone who has quit caffeine cold turkey knows that the the withdrawal headaches are BRUTAL, and the holidays are not the time to be laid flat with a crippling headache. So I have been easing myself off coffee and on to herbal teas.

Teavana Perfect Tea maker $19.95 at Teavana.com
For Christmas my daughter gave me a big tin of White Ayurvedic Chai Tea and a Perfect Tea Maker from Teavana. The Perfect Tea Maker is fantastic. Just scoop 2 tsp of whatever loose tea you choose into the tea maker, add 16 oz of boiling water (snaps to the Insta-Hot tap I had installed in the kitchen) and let it sit for 2 minutes. Then place the Perfect Tea Maker over a mug and the spring sensor in the bottom of the tea maker automatically drains the tea into your mug. There are no obnoxious whistles, no messy, soggy bags, minimal clean up…I think I’m in love! It’s so easy to make a delicious cup of tea that I find myself reaching for the Tea Maker more often than I feel the urge to go to Starbucks…and that was the whole point, wasn’t it!
Teavana offers an amazing selection of teas from all over the world, so you can experiment with different flavors and different values. You can purchase Teavana products at their retail shops in malls nationwide, or on line at Teavana.com.
